Jack Rogers Sandals for Women
In the 1950's, a Florida man named Jack Rogers was a local shoe maker who worked in a Palm Beach store. He created a new sandal and sold them to the store only one pair at a time. The sandals were inspired from moccasins and the instant hit became known as Navajo sandals because of the Native American design sewn into the leather. Because of the local popularity of his sandal, Saks Fifth Avenue looking for new and fresh products, asked Jack Rogers to produce his popular sandals for their entire chain. In 1962, first lady and fashion icon Jacqueline Kennedy was photographed in a pair of Navajo sandals which made them an instant hit across the country.
Jack Rogers sandals can now be purchased in every color imaginable as well as materials such as denim, crocodile, alligator, suede and even python! Because they are made with an interesting whip stitch, the varying colors are always interesting and fresh.
